NVQ in Team Leading Level 2
Do you lead a team? Do you need to motivate team members to achieve agreed results?
This NVQ is ideal for those who aim to enter management and need to demonstrate leadership qualities. It gives practising and aspiring team leaders a solid foundation on which to build their leadership skills.
How is this course structured?
- The qualification consists of:
- Online courses that provide underpinning knowledge
- A work-based competence assessment
To achieve this qualification each candidate must complete six units in total, made up of four mandatory units and two optional units.
Mandatory Units:
- Manage your resources
- Provide leadership for your team
- Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
- Ensure your own actions reduce risk to health and safety
Optional Units:
- Developing yourself as a team leader
- Leading, briefing and motivating your team
- Fulfilling customer requirements
- Providing quality to customers
- Using information to solve problems

Duration and Cost
This course is being delivered in partnership with Learndirect and will normally take 3 to 4 months to complete. Candidates have to complete a portfolio of evidence and are assessed in the workplace.
Free for employees who:
- Do not already hold at least one level 2 qualification, 5 GCSE grades A-C or above
- Are over 19 years old
- Are employed or in a volunteer position
- Are UK or EU citizens and working in the UK or EU for 3 years
- Are not on any other government-funded training
